A Tale of Two Festivals MONOLITH 2009 represented some of the best and worst aspects of large music festivals. It suffered from some of the most appalling conditions you could imagine, but it still managed to churn out some extremely memorable performances. Though the weekend was packed with various events around town, we were able to make it out Saturday, August 8th for a much needed dose of live music. “Everything is bigger in Texas”…is the exact reason why MeVs visited Oklahoma this past weekend. Norman got something right. Who knew this small, Sooner dominating town had so much culture. Three hours on the road with minimal stops led to a great, fun-filled Saturday at the second annual Norman Music Festival. Read More
With festival season coming up, we here at MeVersus are getting mighty excited about this year’s constellation of artists. Of Montreal, Animal Collective, and a 2nd date with Chromeo are my summer goals.
Starting off with a Southwestern bang, the Norman Music Festival will host a free show on April 24th. MeVersus will be there, covering the event with glee. More details will follow. Did I mention how much I love festival season?
