MeVs had a chance to stop by A-KON this weekend and it was quite a sight! With the help of Charles (aka Wonder Chicken), one of the security heads, I was able to maneuver through the maze of the Sheraton. Apparently, the hotel was not equipped to handle the growing crowd. Attendees leaked over to the Westin: makeup, blood, sweat and all. After hours of aimless wandering, trying to spot the best costumes, and being vaguely interested in what sellers had to offer, I begin to question what was left to do. I was told I had to wait for the shows in the evening. I’m sure I would’ve thoroughly enjoyed that, but then what was the first eight hours or so of the convention for? A fellow cosplayer answered, “I come to see the interesting costumes, be with people that have the same interests as me, and make friends.” Of course. I can respect that.
Following is the best of the costumes I was able to capture:
