I was out and about this weekend exploring neighboring cities. I stumbled upon a little treasure in Allen: Voila French Bakery | Bistro | Cafe.
Glowjangles and I often argue about a decent place to get sandwich, and the contenders are usally Subway and Quizno’s. (Oh, how they both pale in comparison now.)
Voila’s only downfall is the inconspicuous location. I initially thought it was closed, but my stubbornly inquisitive nature was a major payoff.
Voila produces its own bread daily. All ingredients are superbly fresh. And the final concoction is pure delight. I ordered a Croque Monsieur (grilled sandwich with ham and swiss cheese), which was delicious; but then I took a bite of the Paris Texas Steak Melt and was immediately in love. I had to get another order. Each order comes with Texas-size sandwich and a bag of chips. Prices range about $7-8. I can get a medium sandwich for that price at Quizno’s. Voila, you’ve ruined all other sandwich shops for me, but all I can say is thank you!
