Usually, our family patronizes local Asian restaurants for Sunday lunch, but this weekend, the visit of some out-of-town friends sparked a chance to try something different. Taverna is a charming locale with a tight space, but a robust sense of joviality among good friends. The restaurant was continually filled with eager clientele. The wait was 45 minutes, but festive conversation and $1 mimosas at the bar made it effortless. (Who knew so many people enjoyed champagne so early on a Sunday!)
The meal was off to a great start with delectable, cheesy flat-bread, and continued with compliments all around! Omelets, frittata, and Eggs Al Forno all ‘Olio Tartufato (translation, tasty!) mixed in with laughter over-easy made for a wonderful time.
