It truly is a sad day in radio, Dallas, life. Russ Martin, my only need for a radio, was fired from 105.3FM yesterday. The parent company, CBS, have decided to make 105.3 primarily a sports radio station, replacing Russ’s slot with Ben & Skin, decent at best. Russ was the funniest thing I’ve heard in Dallas since relistening to my Demetri Martin mp3s on the iPod. This guy is a genius, witty and clever. It made the drives back from work so much more bearable. Though I don’t sit in ass-loads of traffic, I know many people who do. Needless to say, if you get shot by an enraged driver this week, it’s because they’re suffering from withdrawal. The full story after the jump. Dallas News >>
