Rapidweaver, the simple, WYSIWYG/G.U.I. friendly Dreamweaver competitor has really dropped the ball. It’s free price tag initially makes the program any poor web designers first choice. However, penny pincher beware, there are money traps that even the most resourceful Torrenter will find daunting. The program itself leaves room for some custom editing, minimal at best. Preset dimensions and color options aren’t consistent between themes and limitations that were touted to be non-existent have surfaced. Unlike iWeb, Rapidweaver is boasted as the coder/designers program. But true customization (i.e. multiple authors, module or widget add-ons) can only happen with 3rd party plug-ins, all of which costs pennies, lots of them. At that point, any aspiring interactive would get squeemish. The View from the Dock gives a pretty in-depth comparison. For my needs, I want the streamlining of blogging with the options of a full functional website. In conclusion, Rapidweaver blows, WordPress F.T.W.
